It
is said that there is no age of learning. One can study at any age; however
rarely do it. A 68-year-old retired teacher of Kangra district,
Himachal Pradesh, has characterized this commitment to the education. After
being associated with teaching for 47 years he passed 12th examination this
year.
Birbal
Sandhu, resident of the Gram Panchayat Rodi-Kodi of Dehra Subdivision had
passed the matriculation examination in 1964.After doing JBT course in 1966; he
made teaching as his career. After having served 47 years in
the Education Department, Sandhu retired from the post of central head teacher
on June 30, 2003, has a different spirit towards education.
When
asked, how a desire arose in his mind to study after ten years of retirement, Birbal
said that he always regret less education. Just to fulfil his desire
he decided to study further.
Birbal
Sandhu said that even at this age he is not going to
get any benefit from that education. Despite this, he preserve
the dream to study till graduate.
