Excess indulgence in social networking sites leads to mental problem

Everyone feels free to Post their feelings on the platform of the Internet. A little girl giving her opinion on a social issue becomes a victim of her own mental problems.
Yes, this is the case of Seema (name changed), a resident of Delhi border, a few months ago who gave her outlook on social issues like gang rape on 'Facebook'. And on it the series of various 'comment' and ‘messages’ became personalized.

The fear dominated-The responses on the updates had a significant impact on Seema's heart and mind. For a while, she summoned day and night answers to the reactions occurring on Facebook update and then keeps on checking updates. It just did not stop there; Seema started to think every time that no one understands her and she is all alone. If she goes out she is scared all the time that someone is following her or she is not safe anywhere.

The impact of Virtual World- Young generation considers the stage of social networking websites as the easiest and effective way to express their thinking. The things which young generation scared to share with their family and the people connected to them, feels free to put it on the platforms like Facebook.
Many times virtual world seems to affect them so much that that they get suffered from mental problems such as insecurity and depression in the real world.
When the case came to psychiatrist Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Seema was in deep depression and was feeling insecure herself everywhere. He said, "The younger generation is now so indulged in social networking sites that at times instead of taking it as a thought they accepts these activities as a fact of life, which can be further transformed into mental illness.”

Youth on target- Dr. Gupta believes that the younger generation spends the most time on social networking sites and at this age it is increasingly affected by the activities. In such to be too much active on social networking sites make them far from reality. As a result of which, they may have to face mental problems.

Set your own limits- Usually in such cases the advice of psychiatrists is that at least for some time distance should be maintained from the social networking site and gradually time must be set to use it.
According to Dr Gupta, in such problems we emphasize on the role of the family with medications and counselling. If a person uses his time to interact with family and friends, he will definitely spend less time on networking website.
Follow these simple steps so that social networking sites does not become an addiction to you-
-Set the time for surfing the internet.
-Avoid making friends with people you do not know.
-Take part in social activities.
-Spend time with family.

-Parents should educate their children about these, must encourage and control.
